Welcome! I’m Marcella (Mar) McAree, LMHCA. I’ve had the privilege of working in the mental health field for the past three years now, earning my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marian University in May of 2025.
My approach to therapy is grounded in person-centered care—meeting clients exactly where they are with compassion, authenticity, and a deep respect for their individual experiences. I believe every person holds inherent goodness and strength, and my role is to help clients recognize and embrace these qualities while navigating life’s more difficult emotions and experiences.
I have significant experience working with children, adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, post traumatic stress disorder, and other mental health challenges, as well as their families.
I see myself as a guide in each client’s journey of self-exploration and growth. In my practice, I draw from a variety of modalities, including play therapy, art therapy, family therapy, CBT, and DBT, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client.
In my own time, I find joy in building LEGOs, painting a “Paint by Number,” watching reality TV, going to Pacers games, and spending time with my family and my French Bulldog and Frenchton.
