Melissa is dedicated to delivering evidence-based care that supports individuals in achieving mental wellness. She emphasizes a collaborative, person-centered approach, recognizing the value of each patient’s insight into their own experience. Melissa provides comprehensive care that includes medication management, psychoeducation, and supportive interventions tailored to individual needs. She remains up to date with the latest clinical guidelines and research to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and informed treatment. She has a particular interest in the connection between mental and physical health, including the role nutrition, lifestyle habits, and sustainable weight management can play in improving overall wellness and quality of life.
Melissa is a board-certified physician assistant who has been working in the mental health field since 2019. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Medicine from Western Michigan University. She further specialized her expertise by completing a 2 year psychiatry fellowship with focused training in addiction medicine. Before transitioning to psychiatry, she gained valuable experience in emergency medicine and memory care settings.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters. She is passionate about health and fitness and spends much of her free time weight lifting, running, and staying active. As a former Division I athlete, sports have always been an important part of her life. While she no longer plays softball competitively, she still enjoys athletics and loves spending time on the golf course.
